Mechanism of action

Acitretin is an aromatic analogue for retinoic acid synthesis.

Clinical studies have confirmed that in psoriasis and in keratinization disorders, acitretin normalizes the processes of cell proliferation, differentiation and keratinization of the epidermis.

Its action is purely symptomatic.

Its mode of action is still poorly clarified.
