Mechanism of Action
Mechanism of action
Cefalexin is an antibiotic antibacterial in the betalactamin family of the 1 regeneration cephalosporins group.
All cephalosporins (antibiotics betalactamines) inhibit cell wall production and are selective inhibitors of peptidoglycans synthesis.
The initial stage of the effect of the substance consists in the binding of the substance to cell receptors called "penicillin-binding proteins".
Once a betalactamine antibiotic has been bound to these receptors, the transpeptidation reaction is inhibited and the synthesis of peptidoglycanes is blocked.
This results in bacterial analysis.
