Mechanism of action
Phenoxymethylpenicillin (penicillin V) is a bactericidal antibiotic of the betalactam family, the group of natural penicillins, of the type of phenoxypenicillins.
Sensitive species
Gram+ aerobic: Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes; anaerobic: Fusobacterium nucleatum; others: Treponema vincentii.
